Council champions Fairtrade

CHESHIRE West and Chester Council is creating a Fairtrade Directory.

It will list and promote local suppliers, retailers, caterers and faith organisations that sell Fairtrade products and will help residents and visitors to find out where they can buy such goods.

The directory will be available online on the Council's website and paper copies will be distributed to libraries as well as handed out during events.

Fairtrade champion Cllr Kate Birtwistle said: "We are working Ferragamo Shoes on gaining Fairtrade status and this directory will be a key part. "The council is really pleased to be able to support its local businesses with the directory, as well as encouraging residents and visitors to buy Fairtrade products and supporting some of the world's poorest workers and farmers."
