A BRISTOL DJ is urging Afro-Caribbean men not to ignore symptoms that could be a sign of prostate cancer.

Men from Afro-Caribbean backgrounds are three times more likely to be diagnosed with the disease, which kills 10,000 men in the UK every year.

DJ Mistri, or Julz, presents the drive time show on Ujima Radio on Thursdays and Fridays.

Men aged 50 and over are most at risk of prostate cancer, but there is no national screening available on the NHS.

Julz said: "It's vital we discover an accurate testing system which the NHS can adopt. Men are dying needlessly and from ignorance because they won't talk about it."
